Educational requirements: BA in a design discipline is useful. We also consider graduates of Cultural or Media Studies, Fine Art, Computer Science & other related fields.

Professional experience required: The student may have gained experience and insight into digital media through working practice but this is not an official requirement.

Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paperbase 220 computer test); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5)
Other requirements: Participants are expected to be computer literate and eager to engage in further training in programming, use and development of information systems.

Objectives: To develop a critical understanding and practice of the design of computational, networked, digital media which acknowledge the impact that technical information systems are having on cultural, aesthetic and political processes.

Subjects: Media theory; art; computer programming; Web and information design

Modes of instruction: Individual tutorials with staff and visiting guest artists, theorists, web and print designers, academics & writers. Group critiques with staff and visiting artists and researchers. Lectures. Thematic projects & Workshops. Collaboration with local and national new media Institutions, such as V2, WORM, De Waag, STEIM, Piet Zwart Fine Art, Institute of Network Cultures.
