Course Description

Textiles, fashion and fibre recognises the variety of approaches to practice within textiles and fashion. Collaboration and an interdisciplinary understanding of this diverse field are central to the curriculum.

This allows you to explore the practical and conceptual concerns of, textile design, fashion design and fashion promotion and marketing, before selecting a pathway for your studies in years two and three.

Fashion design

If you are creative, ambitious and seeking a career in the dynamic and rapidly evolving fashion industry, this pathway will appeal to you. Fashion design covers a variety of subject areas, including fashion design and manufacture, fabric awareness, sewing, pattern-drafting and sample-making, alongside critical and theoretical studies.

This unique pathway provides excellent preparation for a career in trend forecasting, styling, journalism, marketing and public relations, with a focus on textile design, fashion and textile art.
