The course of study provides high-level multinational, interdisciplinary and research-oriented education and training for candidates who wish to develop skills and knowledge in pharmacoeconomics and health economics.

The main areas of focus in pharmaocecomics and health economics are the professional handling of medical terminology, medical data, studies, data collection methods, experience with medical documentation, expert systems, databases and publications, as well as the knowledge of instruments and methods used in health-related environments with regard to costing and cost control. Furthermore, the programme aims to develop knowledge of modern leadership/management systems and competence in the basic problems of public sector regulation of health services, e.g. authorisation and monitoring. In addition, the areas of evidence-based provision, quality assurance in medicine, fundamental ethical and legal relationships, scientific analysis of different systems and cultural contexts in healthcare provision and health policy goals and strategies are core areas of the curriculum.
