Educational requirements: Bachelor in (applied) natural science; engineering, computer or information science; biomedical science; environmental science; or equivalent.
Professional experience required: Some experience with reading and analysing texts in the humanities and social sciences.
Language requirements: IELTS (minimum score: overall band: 6.5)
Other requirements: Good writing skills.
Objectives: This master programme will equip students with knowledge and skills to reflect on technology and its social implications in a philosophically sophisticated way, relating to their previous training in engineering or another technology-oriented field.
Subjects: About 60% of the programme includes courses on the ethical, social, anthropological, and epistemological aspects of technology; philosophy of science; engineering design; environmental technology; biomedical technology and information technology; history and sociology of technology. About 40% is reserved for individual research, culminating in a master's degree.
Modes of instruction: Lectures, interactive working groups, project groups and guided self-study.
