The Research Master’s Programme in Political Science trains students in conducting research into political institutions and their designs, workings and implications. Graduates of this master’s programme are prepared for continued academic training and for research intensive positions in the public or private sector.
The programme is highly demanding and thus challenging for motivated students who want to work hard. The research master offers room for students’ own scientific interests in almost each of the courses that are offered. Students are given the opportunity to develop themselves on a scientific level. The group of students participating in the research master is small, which makes the seminar classes and contact with professors intensive.
The Research Master in Political Science prepares students to become researchers. It provides access to continued academic training in the PhD programme of the Netherlands Institute of Government, an interuniversity research school in politics and public administration. In addition, students are prepared for research-intensive positions in the public or private sector, such as governmental organisations or research agencies requiring advanced research skills and research experience.
