Course Description

This accredited professional training programme for educational psychologists will equip you with the skills to assist with the major developmental and educational problems presented by children to parents and teachers, schools and the community. The aim is to prepare you for employment in a local authority setting, normally in Children’s Services. The programme meets the requirements for chartered status set out by the BPS.

Recent developments in the work of Children’s Services, related to the government initiative, Every Child Matters, have called for new ways of working in the educational psychology profession. This programme, with the support of the new Children’s Services departments, aims to respond to these role changes, and to enhance the quality of research evidence informing practice in this area.
