Course Description

Health psychology is the educational, scientific, and professional contributions of psychology to: understanding the promotion and maintenance of health and the aetiology of illness, the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of physical illness, the study of psychological, social, emotional, and behavioural factors in physical illness, the improvement of the health care system, and formulation of health policy.

This BPS-accredited programme is designed for psychology graduates who have satisfied the BPS conditions for graduates. It conforms closely to the core curriculum put forward by the Division of Health Psychology’s stage 1 training. Successful completion of an accredited MSc is essential to take the next step towards Chartered Health Psychologist status. It is possible to take individual modules as freestanding continuing education programmes.

  • Upper second-class honours degree in psychology
