Psychological Health Research: Utrecht University

Educational requirements:

• BSc in social sciences (psychology, anthropology) with basic knowledge of multivariate analysis.

Language requirements:

• TOEFL (minimum score: 580 paper test) 237 (computer test) 93 (internet).); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5 (6.0. for the writing module).), Cambridge EFL: Cambridge Advanced English: B; Cambridge Proficiency in English: C.

Objectives:

• Application of basic knowledge and concurrent specific research methods from four different psychological fields to the study of health and health behaviour; how different approaches supplement each other and combine to offer an integrated explanation of health related behaviours and phenomena.

Subjects:

• In each semester students follow 2 courses focusing on theories and explanations, 1 methods and statistics course and 1 workshop or seminar in which students are taught how to actually test theories and models. The workshops integrate theoretical and statistical knowledge of the semester courses and teach students how to apply this to actual research questions in psychology and health.
