Course Description

The main aim of this programme is to equip and motivate you to undertake high-quality research, by providing advanced training and structured support. You will be encouraged to work on your own initiative, applying newly acquired concepts, methods and skills to promote self-motivated learning. You will use a problem-solving approach to create self-generated research questions relevant to a particular area of interest.

Programme Structure

Semester 1:

  • Critical review
  • Multimedia presentation
  • Qualitative study
  • Research proposal

Semester 2:

  • Critical review
  • Experimental study
  • Multimedia presentation
  • Survey study

Summer:

  • Dissertation thesis comprising literature review, empirical paper and appendices

Entry requirements

  • Upper second-class honours degree or equivalent in psychology
  • formal admission is contingent on you seeking and obtaining approval from a member of the academic staff to serve as your supervisor
