Educational requirements: BA in Islamic Theology or equivalent (including Arabic); IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 570/230 is required for int. students (non-native speakers of English).

Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: 570/230); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5)

Objectives: The objectives of the Master’s programme in Islamic Theology are threefold: to acquire academic knowledge focusing on the Islam in the West; to develop an academic mind and insight into the methods used in the field of Islamic theology; to prepare for an academic career or a career in society.

Subjects: Approaches in the contemporary study of Quran and Hadith; the significance of fatwa-literature, with special reference to the mutual relations between Islam and the Empirical Study of Islam in Europe.

Modes of instruction: Lectures, seminars.
