Educational requirements:

  • BA degree plus competence in: human development, psychology of learning, personality theory, abnormal psychology, social psychology.

Language requirements:

  • TOEFL (minimum score: paper based: 575); IELTS (minimum score: overall band: 7.0, listening: 6.0, reading: 6.0, writing: 6.0, speaking: 6.0)

Objectives:

  • The Webster University Master of Arts in Counseling program prepares individuals for a variety of careers in counseling. The curriculum is designed to provide students with the necessary theory and skills for working with individuals, couples and families in a variety of mental health settings.

Subjects:

  • Upon completion of the program, students should demonstrate understanding in 9 key areas of the curriculum: professional identity; social and cultural diversity; human growth and development; career development; helping relationships; group work; assessment; research and program evaluation; clinical instruction.

Modes of instruction:

  • Evening lectures, class discussions, individual and team projects, counseling learning practicum, internships, research papers.
