Educational requirements:

• Academic Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, including political science, international relations, sociology, or anthropology.

Language requirements:

• TOEFL (minimum score: 570 (paper)/230 (computer)/88 (internet)); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5), Cambridge: minimum score of CAE B or CPE C.

Other requirements:

• Grade Average of at least B/3.0 (American system), Second class, lower division Honours degree (British system), C (ECTS-system), 7.0 (Dutch system).

Objectives:

• To provide students with an in-depth knowledge of recent theoretical approaches in political science, sociology and cultural anthropology and first-hand experience with empirical research in these fields. To allow students to develop their grasp of social theory and public affairs, their symbiosis and their role in the modern world.

Subjects:

• Capita selecta social sciences; social theory and public affairs; art sociology and art economy; conflict resolution and governance: new arrangements between sate, market and civil society; dynamics of international migration and integration; social and cultural studies of sexuality; social challenges for the city in a globalizing world; research methods; thesis.
