Course Description

This programme offers an awareness of social diversity and inequality, and their impact on people’s lives, as well as an understanding of the key concepts and theories used to understand human needs and social welfare.

Each year is divided into two twelve week semesters over three terms. Students study four modules in each semester in years one and two, and three units in each semester in year three. Students also complete a dissertation in year three which is the equivalent of two modules and is a major part of the final year.

There is a common year 1 for Sociology, Sociology and Social Policy students, designed to provide a general introduction to the study of Sociology and Social Policy.
