About the programme

This degree aims to develop your appreciation and understanding of English literature alongside a study of the media and an exploration of the role of each in shaping culture and society.

In the media studies courses you learn how to analyse media texts and the theory and practice of media production, together with the histories, institutions and technologies of the media.

First-year core courses include practical work in media. We expect to offer a new course, Reading Genre, making connections between the two subjects. Subsequently you take core courses and options in both English and media.
