The entire "Master of Science in Digital Media" programme takes 4 semester.

  • The first semester aims at establishing a common ground of knowledge among students from all different backgrounds. Thus, the curriculum covers Media Technology, Information Systems, Interaction Design, as well as Media and Society.
  • The second semester is dedicated to deepen the common ground according to the individual interest of the student. As a field of specialisation, the student may choose between e-Business or Work Design. Additionally, Media Development Processes and Intercultural Project Management are mandatory courses to be taken during the second semester.
  • The third semester is split into two parts - study abroad and further studies in class. While studying abroad, each student will deepen or supplement his/her studies and skills, making his/her own choice where to go and what to do - study, research or internship. Ideally, the student prepares the Master's thesis during this period. During the second half of the third semester, the student chooses four Digital Application modules, such as Digital Music Production, Game Design, Artificial Intelligende, eCulture, Digital Libraries, Streaming, or Social Computing.
  • The fourth semester is dedicated to writing the Master's thesis.

IMPORTANT FOR YOUR VISA APPLICATION:

  • German embassies normally require the knowledge of the German language in order to issue a student visa. Thus, if accepted at ISNM and applying for a student visa, you need to emphasise the fact that no German language skills are needed at ISNM. ISNMs Master's programme is completely conducted in English, all examinations and presentations are held in English.
