Course overview

Film studies is an exciting and challenging subject that provides a critical understanding of film as popular entertainment, theoretical discipline, industry and art form.

In these combined degrees you can study French/German/Spanish with European film across a range of historical periods. Our emphasis is on the specific cultural context in which the films were produced, as well as the work of key film-makers and their influence on cinema as a whole. This is a four-year programme which includes a year spent studying abroad.
