The characteristic integration of the three areas of communication and media science, technical sciences and economics used in the Ilmenau Model for media studies is reflected by the three thematic foci of the course content:
- communication and technology
- strategic communication / organisational communication
- entertainment and digital games
Beside these thematic foci, a sound and systematic background knowledge in the main research fields and methods is provided.
The Master's degree in "Media and Communication Research" prepares students for a wide variety of employment in the following research and innovatively oriented vocational fields:
