The integrated, bilingual German-French study programme will be run during the first two semester at the University of Nantes/France, with a focus on comparative historical and sociological analyses of cultural politics and sociology of arts. Students will spend the third and fourth semester at the University of Düsseldorf/Germany, where Media Studies and Culture as well as Media Science feature prominently. The second year of study provides regional specialisation according to choice (The Americas, Romance countries, Europe).

Students will be given a thorough understanding of the characteristics and development of cultural phenomena and processes in the media with special emphasis being placed on operational levels in the field. They will develop skills in analysing a variety of historical, literary, and cultural contexts. Graduates of the programme qualify for professional opportunities in cultural management, journalism, advertising and public relations, as well as in academia, the media and various aspects of international relations.
